Job Description

OVERVIEW

Responsible for general maintenance and support of the Calibration system, and procurement of standard gaging.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Enter new gages into the calibration system.

• Update gage calibration records (ie: external calibrations).

• Perform gage calibrations to ensure measurement accuracy.

• Issue and recall gages, and update Gage Calibration Lists accordingly.

• Perform gage audits on production floor as required.

• Compile and publish weekly reports, including Calibration Recall, Open Risk Assessments, and Gage Repair Status Reports

• Manage offsite calibrations by external labs (obtain quotes, generate requisitions, prepare gages for shipment, etc.)

• Schedule and coordinate onsite calibrations by external labs.

• Procure inspection and measurement equipment, i.e. – Gages, etc and track status of orders.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS

• Generate and issue Risk Assessment Requests as needed.

• Track and update status of Risk Assessments.

• Repair and adjust gages as needed, including arranging for repair by external sources, if needed.

• Track and update status of pending gage repairs.

• Inventory and reorganize gage storage cabinets.

• Re­serialize old gages to match the new numbering system and update the calibration system accordingly.

• Develop and update Calibration Instructions, and update the Calibration Laboratory Scope as needed.

Job Requirements

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Associate's Degree or two years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.

2+ years of practical measurement experience, including surface plate layouts, using a variety of manual and automated measurement equipment.

Blue print reading and dimensional tolerances.

Basic computer skills.

Math calculations and computations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Associate's Degree in a technical field.

ASQ/CQT certification preferred.

Knowledge of machining and assembly processes and gage applications.

Knowledge of measurement sciences & calibration systems.

Knowledge of SAP.
