The aeroderivative Gas Turbine Lead Mechanical Technician will lead teams to perform hands-on field service work on aeroderivative General Electric Turbines LM2500, LM6000 and LMS100. The work includes but is not limited to borescope inspections, blade work,

combustion/hot section replacements, engine swaps, and other types of maintenance tasks. Prospective candidates must have had previous proven experience on LM aero turbines (LM2500, lm6000 and LMS100)

NOTE. Prospective candidates should reside near a major international airport within the U.S East Coast Region. Strongly preferred candidates residing in the North East area or near Syracuse, N.Y. Extensive travel is required with this position


  • Will lead work as part of a team during, change outs, maintenance, and repair of Aeroderivative Gas Turbines (LM2500, LM6000, lms100)

  • Use hand tools and small power tools to conduct general maintenance of GE Aeroderivative Gas Turbines

  • Lead the Troubleshooting of complicated mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems on variable pitch, variable speed turbines

  • Direct activities of all mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical component maintenance, repair or replacement of parts to as directed

  • Work effectively as a team lead for crew assigned and mentor those assigned under him/her

  • Process timesheets, expense reports, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) forms, and job reports in a timely manner

  • Comply with all EHS policies and procedures to ensure a safe and productive work siteKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Fluent in English

  • MUST have excellent experience doing field work with GE Aeroderivative Gas Turbines ( lm2500, lm6000, Lms100) within the power generation industry

  • Able to understand and implement technical procedures

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Effective interpersonal and organizational skills to be able to lead field teams


  • Must be able and willing to work weekly schedules that are not uniform on a day-to-day basis

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

  • Must be able to climb ladders and stepsEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of an Associate’s degree in aircraft engine or turbine technology or equivalent military training

  • Must have at least 4 years proven experience with servicing, overhauling and maintaining GE aeroderivative technology either LM2500, or lm6000 or lms100.

  • Must be willing to travel on short notice and for long periods of time as needed
